National Boys & Girls Club Week

This past week, the Boys and Girls Club of America celebrated National Boys & Girls Club Week.  The Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County provides a safe place to go, a home away from home, where children feel welcomed and where they join together in wholesome recreation and companionship.  The Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County celebrates their ten year anniversary this year.  The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.  They serve school-aged youth 5 to 18 years old by providing a positive place for kids.  They offer five core programs that are designed to enrich the lives of children.  The programs are:

·         The Arts.

·         Character and Leadership.

·         Education and Career.

·         Health and Life Skills.

·         Sports Fitness and Recreation.

I am honored to be a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County and I strongly urge the citizens of Transylvania County to get involved with the Boys and Girls Club.  They are impacting the lives of children every day by enabling them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
