From all of us here at the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office, have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!  As always, we are very thankful for the honor of serving you.  It has been a great year, and we all have so much to be thankful for.  God has kept us all safe here at the Sheriff’s Office, and that is saying a lot in the world we live in today.  We are reminded daily, not just on the fourth Thursday of November, but rather daily just how blessed we are to be able to live, work, and play in this community!  It is truly a joy and privilege that we do not take for granted.  So let us be reminded….

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” - William Arthur Ward

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual.”

- Henry David Thoreau

“Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received. Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling. Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.”                                                                                                                     -  Henry Van Dyke

“Pride slays thanksgiving, but a humble mind is the soil out of which thanks naturally grow. A proud man is seldom a grateful man, for he never thinks he gets as much as he deserves.”                                                                   - Henry Ward Beecher

“I think that is a better thing than thanksgiving: thanks-living. How is this to be done? By a general cheerfulness of manner, by an obedience to the command of Him by whose mercy we live, by a perpetual, constant delighting of ourselves in the Lord, and by a submission of our desires to His will.”                - Charles H. Spurgeon

“In every thing give thanks….” - I Thessalonians 5:18
